Judith Cohen Design is a full-service interior design firm recognized for creativity and comprehensive design services. Judith describes her work as a current approach to classic style, tailored to each client and dedicated to functional, beautifully designed, and luxurious spaces.
By offering interior design, custom built-ins, and construction management, every project becomes a complete collaboration with the owner. Judith and her team work closely with each client so their taste, budget, and schedule are met. No matter the style, she draws on years of experience to create a modern family home that exceeds expectations.
The path to design
From the art world to the drafting table.
After majoring in Art History and English Literature in college, I stepped into the art world as assistant to the iconic Surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. I edited the English translation of his cookbook from the French, Les Diners de Gala, and worked with his American publishers. Upon Dalí’s return to Europe, I worked for an international art publisher as Sales Director.
My evolution toward interior design was a natural one. After studying drawing and design at the School of Visual Arts and the New York School of Interior Design, I served as assistant to the well-known interior designers Mario Buatta, Abbey Darer, and Bill Crowder.
Judith Cohen Design was founded in 1986. My work has appeared in publications such as House Beautiful, Redbook, Woman’s Day, Home Ideas, and Family Circle. Two children’s rooms are featured in the book Rooms to Grow, Creating Rooms & Furniture for Children, by Jane Cornell.
